Detention Center
The Towns County Detention Center is led by Jail
Administrator, Capt. Pat Williams. Williams supervises 15
employees, approximately 35 inmates on average, as well
as administers and maintains detention center operations.
As of July 28, 2008, Towns County Detention Center is at
full capacity with 56 inmates. The detention center is
housing 15 inmates for Union County at an approximate
revenue for Towns County of $16,000 per month.
Williams has been employed by the Towns County Sheriff's
Office since August, 1998. Her training consists of court
services, credit card fraud, clandestine lab safety
awareness, gangs, terrorism, Spanish for public safety
officers, advanced traffic law, radar operator training and
grant writing. In addition, Williams has extensive training
in domestic abuse, including child abuse, and the
investigations thereof. Williams has also received training
in Georgia's new sex offender law and registry, as well as
criminal investigations, search warrants and affidavits,
evidence and property management and command staff
training.
